There is great wisdom in examining the belief system of any church which a person or family is considering embracing as an active part of their worship experience. We should want to know what theology a church subscribes to and then we can make an educated decision in regards to joining with that group of believers.
Therefore, here is a general overview of the belief system of The Life Center Christian Fellowship. A more comprehensive printed statement is available to you upon your request. If there is further definition which you would need on any of these beliefs, our pastoral staff is always available to discuss these matters more in detail.
* TLC accepts the Holy Scriptures as the inspired revealed Word of God, the all-sufficient rule of faith and practice, for the purpose of maintaining general unity. (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
* We believe in the one true God as the Creator of heaven and earth, and the Redeemer of mankind. He is revealed as the embodiment of the Trinity, which is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
* We believe in Jesus Christ as the eternal Son of God, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His substitutionary work on the cross, His resurrection from the dead, and His uniqueness as the sole mediator between God and Man. (1Corinthians 15:3, 1 Timothy 2:5,6)
* We believe in salvation of our souls through the sole hope of redemption through Jesus Christ. (John 3:3, Romans 10:13-15)
* We believe in the ordinance of water baptism by immersion for those who have repented and received Jesus as Savior. (Matthew 28:19)
* We believe in partaking of holy communion, also known as the Lord’s supper, consisting of bread and the fruit of the vine. We acknowledge this as a commemorative act which symbolizes the suffering and death of our Savior and the hope of His prophesied return. (2 Peter 1:4, 1 Corinthians 11:26)
* We believe in the baptism in the Holy Spirit, which involves the enduement of power for life and service. In relationship to this, we recognize the operation of the gifts of the Spirit in the lives of the believer. (Luke 24:49, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)
* We believe in the blessed hope of the resurrection of those who have died in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive in Christ as the blessed hope of the Church. (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
* We believe in the new heavens and the new earth according to God’s promise. (2 Peter 3:13)
